Extra-Terrestaurant
In Extra-Terrestaurant, you're stuck working at an alien food court, deciphering bizarre symbol-based orders to cook strange dishes and keep customers happy—all while trying to survive the job you lied your way into!
Working with a group of 4 programmers and 2 artists, Extra-Terrestaraunt was the most fleshed out game I've made as of 2024.
Right from the start our whole group loved the concept, and we ran wild with so many fun ideas. Due to our short scope, I learned how to cut features out of our game and reshape our goals to put out our game in time.
Working with developers I'd never worked with before led to some challenges at first with communication. To fix these issues, I learned to speak to them each one on one rather than assuming everyone remembered everything mentioned in our meetings.
Role: Lead Designer, Programmer
Contributions: After coming up with the concept of this deciphering based cooking game, I storyboarded the whole concept out before coding.
I worked tirelessly on my portion of the code which included all the ordering and deciphering mechanics, as well as creating the tutorial and dialog system.
I've spent more time debugging on this project than of any other game I've got to work on so far.
