I was our sole game designer for this project. I wanted to make an addictive casual game which features a 1-tap mechanic. I also designed our diegetic UI to fit into our background.

Key Takeaways:
This project was made for a casual game development class I took in 2026. I worked with a team of 2 other developers in Godot to make this game. As I had never used Godot before, I pretty much exclusively focused on pixel art, game design, and QA. I had so much fun going above and beyond with animations for this class project.

Soda Splash is a fun and addicting little casual game where you have to pour soda into a cup and try to get the perfect pour. I wanted to make a game with a simple 1-tap mechanic that was easy to learn but hard to master, and I think we accomplished that goal.

I enjoyed taking a bit of a backseat and avoiding code for once. This allowed me to dedicate far more time to making our game pop visually with vibrant pixel art, and satisfying animations. I had to learn to communicate my vision for the game's feel and UI design without being able to just implement it myself, which was challenging at times, but it overall came out very nicely.
